106.9 The Fox - Hampton Road's Classic Rock

We hope you will enjoy listening to 106.9 The Fox online.  All you have to do is click on the LISTEN ONLINE graphic above and a media player will automatically download and begin to play our audio stream.  (If it doesn't, please read on!)

FYI - due to the nature of this service, the audio stream will be slightly delayed from "real time".  In other words, it will be running a few seconds behind the broadcast signal.

Our streaming service supports PC, MAC and Linux users. All you need is the latest version of Windows Media Player. If you don't have it, click here, it's free.

Depending on your internet connection it should take anywhere from 5-30 seconds for the player and stream to load. During the broadcast, you may notice periods of silence. This is normal.  These periods of silence are covering local commercials which we're not allowed to broadcast over the internet. The broadcast will resume when we get back to music.

If you have problems:

First, turn off your virus protection software and try to reconnect.  If you're able to connect after turning off your virus protection, you may need to disable your pop up blocker and ensure that web plug-ins are allowed, or add the web page’s URL to your trusted sites section. Please consult your virus program’s help files for these configurations.

If your system is behind a firewall, please contact your network administrator to open up your firewall to allow your system to access this stream via port 80 or verify that they allow streaming media to be played over the network.

For the best listening and media player experience, please ensure that you are using Windows Media Player 7 or newer and have (recommended) Internet Explorer loaded onto your computer.

NETSCAPE USERS (6.0 and 6.1) - Please use Windows Media Player 6.0 and above, and use the controls on your computer to adjust the volume. (NETSCAPE 7.1 is not supported at this time)

MAC USERS (OS 9.1 and OSX Jaguar) - Please download and install the correct Windows Media player for your operating system, use Internet Explorer for Macintosh, and use your volume controls on your computer to adjust the volume.

MAC USERS (OSX Panther) - Please download and install the correct Windows Media player for your operating system, use Internet Explorer for Macintosh or Safari, and use your volume controls on your computer to adjust the volume.

LINUX USERS – Download and install both MPlayer (MPlayer-0.90) and the Mozilla MPlayer plugin (MPlayerplug-in-0.95). If you still have difficulties listening, download and install the additional codecs that are located on the MPlayer home page.

If after trying all the above you are still having problems accessing this stream, please send an email to mailto:support@liquidcompass.net, and a representative will assist you with any troubleshooting issues you might have to ensure that you are able to fully enjoy listening to 106.9 The Fox online!

Due to the nature of our programs that are heard on-line over the internet, programs heard on this radio station’s internet audio stream are slightly delayed from the time the programs are heard on the broadcast station, and will be running behind the broadcast signal. Thus, all content heard, including news alerts, contests, traffic reports, and more are delayed. This delay can last for as much as 30 seconds or more.

This also means that when WAFX contests are played that require a specific caller to telephone the radio station (such as Caller number 10 when you hear the sound effect), listeners to the on-line audio stream may be at a disadvantage in participating over those listeners who hear the contests on-air.

We want to make sure you understand this unavoidable situation, and thank you for listening to WAFX on-air and online at wafx.com.
